The Challenge:
One of society's most intractable problems, homelessness carried a high human and financial cost for Denver. Mayor John Hickenlooper proposed a comprehensive solution, but it would require the support of the entire city, including the business and philanthropic communities and citizens from across Denver.
The Solution:
The city launched Denver's Road Home, a 10-year plan to end homelessness. SE2 was retained to provide communications support for the plan. This included message development, branding, media relations, community awareness and the development of promotional materials. Providing both big-picture strategic guidance and day-to-day support for the Denver Department of Human of Services, SE2 has helped city officials maintain momentum and develop public support for the initiative.
The Result:
While Denver's Road Home is part of large and growing national movement to end homelessness, Denver is the first city in the country to retain outside communications counsel. SE2's work has been cited as a model for other cities looking to use communications to move their initiatives forward.
