Highlighting the need for judicial resources in Colorado

The Challenge:
Colorado's court system was becoming overwhelmed by cases at a time of limited resources. Outside of the legal profession, however, this problem was not well understood so there was little impetus for change.

The Solution:
SE2 wrote, directed and produced a video called "Justice for All...But at What Price?" for the Colorado Supreme Court. The project included five days of filming, interviews with judges from across the state and extensive research into courtroom and caseload statistics. The video became an educational tool that Colorado judges regularly used in presentations around the state. Following up on the success of "Justice for All...But at What Price?" the Colorado Supreme Court hired SE2 to create a second informational video that highlighted Colorado’s proud legal tradition and the stress that budget constraints put on the courts.

The Result:
The new video produced a much broader understanding of the impact of budget pressures on the court system. Increased funding from the legislature followed. This video was recognized with a Gold Pick Award from the Public Relations Society of America, Colorado Chapter.
