It was a long time ago that SE2 hung a “Closed” sign over our campaign-shop door. But several years after swearing off late night phone banks and early morning lit drops, our campaign record is, well, impressive.
SE2 had another big year at the ballot in 2007, helping the “big red letters” A through I on Denver’s ballot.
In all seriousness, while SE2 does not work on candidate campaigns any longer, over the last several years we’ve been lucky to team with some outstanding partners to shepherd interesting issues across the electoral finish line.
Issues A through I, which will allow Denver to increase funding dedicated to infrastructure maintenance and authorized eight other packages of public improvements, join a list of our other recent issue campaigns including Denver’s 1A in 2006 (Preschool), Amendment 35 (Tobacco Tax) and Amendment 36 (defeat of electoral college mischief) both in 2004.
The days of being principally a campaign shop are long gone. But as we continue to engage from time to time in issue campaigns affecting our clients and local communities, we can only hope that we can keep up our success rate.
